Bed and Breakfast
Set in an elegant 18th-century building, this chic hotel is a 12-minute walk from lively La Rambla and the cafes of Plaça de Catalunya, and a 3-minute walk from the Urgell metro station. The understated rooms provide free Wi-Fi and flat-screen TVs, plus minibars or minifridges; some have balconies. Suites add separate bedrooms, sitting areas with pull-out sofas, and complimentary bottles of wine. There's a hip restaurant, a cocktail bar with a tapas menu, and a rooftop terrace with a bar, city views and a plunge pool. Other amenities include a spa with a whirlpool tub, a hammam and face and body treatments, plus a gym and meeting facilities.
Celebrity Cruises
Celebrity Equinox takes advantage of the weather with outdoor amenities, such as real grass lawn on top of the ship and a Lawn Club Sunset Bar, complete with deck furniture and faux fire pit. If that sounds sophisticated for a cruise ship, then you're correct. Celebrity Equinox is about modern touches aimed at a crowd that enjoys craft beer and top-shelf mixed drinks, restaurant experiences that punch up to gourmet, and entertainment that trends more toward aerialists and magicians than big musicals or raucous parties.
Stateroom
All cabins have two twins that can be pushed together to form a queen bed. Some staterooms are also equipped with either a sofa bed and/or an upper pull-down bunk bed to accommodate a third or fourth passenger. Cabins also have a safe, a mini-fridge and an interactive TV. Wardrobe space is plentiful, but shelf space is limited. Cabins have hair dryers, and there are both European and American outlets.
Dining onboard
As Celebrity Equinox’s main dining room, Silhouette – with lofty ceilings and numerous table configurations – offers passengers a choice of two set meal times: early or late. Those who prefer flexibility can opt for Celebrity Select Dining, which lets them dine any time during the dinner service. Passengers choosing the flex dining option can pre-reserve space online or onboard or walk in during the allotted hours and wait for a space to open up (rarely more than a few minutes).Breakfast is open seating daily with standard items served. Lunch takes place here on port days only, with soups, salads, hot entrees and grilled items.Dinner menus are arranged in the traditional manner: appetizers, soups and salads followed by entrees and then desserts and cheese. Quality ingredients cooked and presented well make the main dining room experience consistently enjoyable. Expect a varied menu that changes regularly with the basics -- red meat, poultry, seafood and vegetarian dishes -- covered. If nothing on the rotating menu suffices, there are "always available" choices.
Activities
Spanning three decks, the Equinox Theater is the main entertainment venue on Celebrity Equinox. The theater is large and offers balcony seating. There are two shows nightly, which is convenient for those who have a late seating at the restaurants. Shows include musicians, dancers, acrobats and comedians.
