Aptly named -sandy point- in Spanish, Puntarenas is a coastal region that features mountains, rainforest, and some of the best beaches in Central America. It sits on a sliver of land and beach that stretches into the Gulf of Nicoya, directly across from the Nicoya Peninsula. Falmouth, Jamaica
There are some top attractions on Jamaica - the biggest one being Dunns River Falls ( close to Ocho Rios) made famous by the James Bond film Dr No. Gentle bamboo rafting on the Martha Brae river made famous by Errol Flynn is exceedingly tranquil and worth doing. Another great trip is horse riding through the sugar cane plantations, on to the beach then swimming on your horse in the sea - absolutely marvellous. Perhaps visit the Blue Mountains and the coffee plantations for a unique souvenir or gift.
